STARTUP SUCCESS WORKSHOP
Looking to start your own business? Community Futures of Central Island is offering Startup Success, a 10-day business planning workshop that provides practical, focused advice and assistance. Class starts on February 18th, 2008.

The workshop--the only one of its kind locally, and open to anyone-covers all the elements of business start-up, including market research, operations, marketing and financing. Participants will put their ideas into a written plan that indicates business viability and lays out the steps for day-to-day operations and growth.

The instructor is Gord Woodward who has worked with more than a thousand people locally in business planning. The goal of the workshop is to provide entrepreneurs with the tools to help them succeed in today's marketplace. It deals with reality which is the key to success in business. A realistic plan is going to get a warmer reception from potential lenders and investors and it helps give a new business more solid footing in starting out.

Participants will be guided through market research, including surveys. They will forecast revenues and expenses, and assess the financial resources they'll need in the first year of operations. By the end of the workshop, participants will be well prepared to get into business for themselves.

Fee for Startup Success is just $750 and includes all materials.
